SUMMARY
The Patient Safety Sitter, under the supervision of an RN, provides close observation of patients to ensure patient safety. Overall, the primary focus of the Patient Sitter is to assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment. The goal is to promote a therapeutic milieu, while contributing to the overall efficiency of the nursing team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some key responsibilities, as determined by the Charge Nurse may include: patient lifts, turns, positioning, assistance with ambulation to the bathroom, commode, filling water pitcher, providing snacks, patient transport and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED; Prefer individuals currently enrolled in a nursing program to become an RN or LPN; experience in hospital setting preferred; Applicants must hold a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
