The Blue Heron Kitchen & Pub is a new concept bringing an elevated level of dining to the fast-growing Buckeye Lake resort area. It is a year-round destination focused on fresh ingredients served with style and a carefully curated beverage menu. Located close to I-70 and only 30 minutes from downtown Columbus, The Blue Heron is ideally positioned to serve a wide audience looking for a great dining experience.

We are seeking a morning restaurant prep person to join our team and help us prepare for the busy day ahead. You will be responsible for ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for service, working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure smooth operations in the kitchen.

Compensation:
$17-$19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic kitchen duties, such as cutting and washing vegetables, preparing meats and fish, and measuring ingredients for recipes.
• Assist the culinary team with creating and executing daily specials and menu items.
• Ensure that all ingredients are prepped and ready for service in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to work early morning shifts (5am start time).
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
