Job description
Under limited direction with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to analyze portfolio holdings, asset allocation strategies, develop and recommend appropriate solution sets for individual and institutational portfolios. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes portfolios for individuals, institutions, endowments and not-for-profit organizations in accordance with each client's investment objectives.
- Writes or contributes to white papers for financial advisor or client use.
- May assist in the building and creation of technology platforms supporting investment management functionality.
- Uses analytical tools and methodologies to research portfolio holdings.
- Responds to inquires and researches and resolves issues.
- Constructs and implement appropriate investment strategy for each client while ensuring compliance with all applicable internal and external policies or regulations.
- Manages relationships to build rapport and to satisfy the financial advisor and client's needs with regard to reporting and pro-active communication.
- Assists with the retention of existing clients through conference calls, video and meetings with clients and financial advisors.
- Collaborates with financial advisors by assisting in the development of marketing materials and by participating in client presentations as appropriate.
- Participates in ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Advanced concepts of investment products, asset allocation strategies and portfolio analytics.
- Market trends and drivers.
- Advanced concepts, principles and practices used in the portfolio analysis and research process used for selecting investment products.
- Advanced use of portfolio analytical tools and methodologies employed by investment consultants.
- Broker/dealer operations.
- Company’s working structure, policies, mission and strategies.
Skill in:
- Interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
- Detail orientation to ensure quality standards are met without impairing work flow.
- Preparing reports.
- Follow-up to ensure resolution and completion of tasks.
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.
Ability to:
- Construct portfolios using the latest risk management and portfolio construction tools and methodologies.
- Work independently, making routine decisions and resolving moderately complex problems.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels, including senior management.
- Represent the company in a highly professional manner.
- Prepare and present presentations on results of analytics to large audiences.
- Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Balance conflicting resource and priority demands.
- Partner with other business units to accomplish objectives.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization, including negotiating resources.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in business, economics, finance or related field and a minimum five (5) to seven (7) plus years of experience in the financial services industry with a strong fixed income background.

- Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications:
- SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
- Ability to obtain FINRA Series 7 and 63 Licenses within one (1) year of hire.
- May have Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation.
