The Production Supervisor will manage the production activities of the shift team members while upholding General Plastics Mission/Vision/Values to ensure the production of company products are at the highest quality and lowest cost, meeting company performance standards, customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies, procedures and EHS standards. This individual will evaluate and mentor team members to increase productivity and inspire positive morale throughout the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement the company s safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and an accident-free work environment
Lead employee engagement activities, while establishing a positive employee environment through communications, feedback and overall guidance
Monitor performance and take corrective action including discipline as needed and respond to complaints to ensure the company and employee s adhere to policies, practices and work rules
Oversee daily output, measure weekly production efficiency and continuously coach employees to improve performance
Staff, develop and maintain an effective workforce of production personnel to accomplish department goals
Improve employee involvement and communication to achieve strategic operating objectives
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience working within a continuous improvement environment in the areas of production, quality and lean manufacturing principles.
Preferred Skills:
Associates or equivalent work experience
Excellent communicator who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment
Demonstrated the ability to deliver effective coaching and mentoring
Team player who enjoys working with others and gets satisfaction from seeing others succeed
Lead high performance work teams
Job Requirements:
Full-time with the ability to work 2nd shift (production shift hours are 3:00pm-11:00pm); you will be required to come in 30 minutes before your shift and stay at least 30 minutes after your shift to assure a smooth transition between shifts and the ability to work occasional Saturday s, which would qualify for overtime compensation in this salaried position
Working conditions may involve lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds
Requires the use of safety equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses
Exposure to noise and subject to regular bending, twisting, and reaching
