GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervise labor, material and work performed necessary to promote a safe, efficient and productive labeling, production, packaging and frozen and canned warehouse.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and utilize safety practices by correcting unsafe acts and enforcing plant safety programs.- Assure compliance with all customer specifications.
- Ensure that daily productivity goals are being met.
- Ensure housekeeping procedures are being followed.
- Oversee employees to ensure correct packaging and shipping of orders.
- Recommend to Management ways to minimize costs and maximize production.
- Supervise the proper handling of products and supplies in the warehouse with respect to packaging of products.
- Assist in overseeing that equipment is being maintained properly.
- Gain a complete understanding of all production reporting systems and utilize systems and data to ensure objectives for OEE (Rate, Yield, and Utilization) are being optimized.
- Maintain a positive open line of communication with all employees.
- Provide employee recognition to say thank you and to encourage actions and thinking that will make Lakeside Foods a successful organization.
- Inform Management of all labor situations.
- Assure that each person is properly trained and performs their job assignments as instructed.
- Provide a positive work environment to help each other be successful meeting customer’s needs.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all packaging orders.
- May perform other duties as assigned by Management or the General Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge/Education:
- Two year associate degree preferred or equivalent related experience.
- One to three years training and/or related experience.
- Should have a general knowledge of packaging operations and equipment.
- Must have understanding of customer specifications.
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity would be beneficial.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Language Skills:
- Ability to analyze and utilize production reports to improve operations.
- Ability to effectively communicate instructions to employees.
- Ability to effectively present detailed information to the Manager.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Temperature in the work environment averages about 50 degrees F.
