Summary
We are looking to hire a Project Manager to join our Operations Team, based at our Houston, Texas location. As our project manager, your job will be to completely manage the projects you are assigned to, including but not limited to, coordinating people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving a project's organization, procurement, and timeline.

Duties
Specific project manager responsibilities include heavy client interaction, creating project websites thru SharePoint, developing detailed project plans, coordinating & managing monthly &/or weekly meetings with the client & team, ensuring resource availability and allocation, and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.
Requirements
Project managers should have a background in business skills, management, project management (preferably in the maritime industry or the shipbuilding industry), budgeting and analysis. You should be proactive, an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks & projects simultaneously. You also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Attend conferences & shows as requested.
Requirements
- Great educational background, preferably in the field of engineering for technical project managers. (Preferred not required)
- Proven work experience as a project administrator or project manager for at least 5 years.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MS applications.
- Some travel will be required. A passport is essential.
- Salaried position, in office setting Monday thru Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or Project Management Certification (PMP) - (Preferred)
- If no degree or PMP a minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience in similar or related position.
- Familiarity with ABS/BV, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations helpful.
- Self-starter, customer focused, strong work ethics and commitment to excellence and transparency.
- National and international logistics knowledge.
- Proven ability to learn new software programs.
- Experience creating and presenting lists, reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities sufficient to be an effective problem solver.
- Demonstrated inter-personal skills to be an effective team member and the ability to work well with different teams across the organization, including interaction with regional & international offices.
- Time-Management skills needed to plan, manage, and coordinate projects.
- History of proactivity and seeking out additional information and opportunities independently.
- Bilingual a plus.
