PROJECT MANAGER I

SUMMARY
The Project Manager I will oversee, plan, and coordinate all aspects of various IT-related projects from initiation to delivery. Assemble project team, assign individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources, and develop detailed project plans/schedules to ensure timely completion. Coordinate activities performed by IT staff and others by defining project scope and requirements and performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Evaluates and develops project plans and budgets.
- Coordinates with multiple internal and external groups.
- Disseminates information on any problems or potential delays and mitigation plans.
- Ensures projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Communicates project progress to appropriate audience.
- Manages aspects of customer interface, including requirements of cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Manages project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with project members.
- Participates in negotiation of requirements and changes.
- Serves as focal point and liaison between departments on project status or other project information.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, business administration, finance, or accounting and 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of project management and creating and implementing project schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead, mentor and advise large teams.
- The ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory
- Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However, it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
