Project Specialist-SOSS-Hybrid/Remote
Job Summary
The Project Specialist is responsible for the documentation of business needs, the collection and analysis of various forms of data, and the coordination of project activities. The Project Specialist must be familiar with techniques and best practices related to business analysis and project management to ensure the successful completion of work related to the development and implementation of learning and development and information systems projects within a business and finance setting. The Project Specialist also responds quickly, congenially, and correctly to service requests from customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates program and project activities involving team members and stakeholders internal and external to the unit to ensure timely completion of work that meets established goals and objectives.
Creates business justification documentation for new projects and work requests by conducting interviews and performing research and analysis to clearly document need and anticipated benefits.
Creates complex surveys that utilize conditional logic to gather information to inform decisions, gather requirements, and evaluate the impact of programs and initiatives.
Queries and analyzes data from various sources, including surveys and databases, to prepare reports for internal and external customers.
Responds timely to service requests and customer inquiries regarding surveys, web forms, data analysis, and reporting.
Assists with the development and implementation of learning and development deliverables such as online courses, knowledgebase articles, and assessments to ensure fulfillment of documented need.
Other duties and responsibilities as appropriate for a Project Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position.
(Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
Demonstrated experience supporting projects and initiatives through development of requirements, analysis of data, and creation of documentation and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in preparing reports, business correspondence, and other documents that provide complex, detailed information in a format that is clear and user friendly.
Experience developing surveys.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
Familiarity with writing SQL queries for data analysis and validation.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Ability to learn new concepts quickly and to connect the dots across similar projects, processes, and procedures with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently when needed and collaborate fully with others.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 5/29/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
