Property and Casualty Insurance Underwriter

Although many risks are similar, no two are the same. For this reason, we work closely with our agency partners to underwrite each risk on its own merits. We are seeking individuals who can use good solid judgment and knowledge of our products to create solutions to help both agents and insureds.

Windsor-Mount Joy is growing, and we are seeking individuals who have the ability to actively listen and use judgment by understanding the needs of the insured as well as hazards associated with any risk to ensure needs are being met and to ensure future profitability of the company.

Job Description

Help find solutions for agents by reviewing new business inquiries.

Develop strong relationships with agency partners by providing timely support on company’s products and systems.

Review and make recommendations on new and existing business to ensure continued profitability.

Communicate solutions, underwriting decisions and coverage interpretations with agency partners.

Work collaborative with team on other tasks associated with marketing, loss control, claims, and product development.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or more than three years in the insurance industry

Strong computer skills with ability to adapt to new systems

Sound analytical and math skills

Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally

Ability to work and think independently while also collaborating with other team members.

Must have outstanding customer service skills and desire to assist

Excellent research, time management and problem-solving skills

Klinefelter Underwriters, Inc., which is the managing corporation for several other insurance related organizations. G. R. Klinefelter Underwriters, Inc. employs approximately 40 people and growing.
