Purchasing Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team at LSG Sky Chefs. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department in sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors. You will work closely with the Warehouse and Production Control Supervisor to ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with sourcing equipment, goods, and services from vendors
• Manage vendor relationships and maintain vendor database
• Prepare purchase orders and track order status
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse team to ensure optimal stock levels
• Assist with cost analysis and negotiation of prices with vendors
• Submit all Purchase Orders to vendor(s) in a timely matter, and insuring delivery times are met.
• Compare incoming purchase orders with invoice to ensure proper specifications, maintain all records.
• Submit verified PO/Invoice to Office Assistant for reconciliation.
• End-of-month cycle counts / inventory close-out as well as daily supply review

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role preferred
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with purchasing software
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of the food and beverage industry a plus
