About the role:
The Quality Assurance Engineer must have experience in creating and implementing a detailed plan to ensure overall quality of all IT products, services, and systems. They must have experience in resolving all project or program release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve results. They must also have experience in assuring the viability, functionality, and effectiveness of essential tools.
Location(s): Remote, US. Candidates from HUBZone(s) are preferred.
What you'll do:
- Maintain Test Repository in Jira
- Updating regression tests as changes are made to the applications
- Creating new tests to fully test acceptance criteria and or bugs in each release
- Provide SQA and UAT First Level Tester support.
- Assign tests
- Load data (complete Pre-Requites in Jira prior to SQA and UAT)
- Locate or create the data records (Application and Level Requests) needed as the Testers test
- Answer questions on functionality and script running, as well as support the testing process
- Conduct Teams’ sessions for verification of issue/situation
- Escalation and review of issues with Development Level Support
- Bug creation, linkage, and tracking
- UAT Testing Coordination between Development and Business teams.
- Create a UAT Release Testing Timeline based on the Release and IMS
- Provide the UAT Testing Timeline based off Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to customer management.
- Set up Pre-Test Meeting with SQA and UAT Teams – Identify required Invitees
- Schedule time and date, include Purpose and Agenda, send Meeting Invite including slide deck
- Conduct Pre-Test SQA and UAT Kick-Off Meetings to review the new or current scripts to be run during the Build Testing Cycle
- Post-Testing Activities
- Post-Test SQA and UAT Meetings to review the testing and performance of the scripts, input is gathered and rated by importance and followed-up with Development Manager
- Gather input on running of the Test Cases/Scripts and catalog for review and action
- Retrospective of Testing Cycle
- Creation of all linking and traceability JIRA/Xray
- Responsible for manicuring of Test Artifacts, removing extraneous test results
- Facilitate/host Test Readiness Review (TRR) at the end of UAT with the business to gather the GO/NO GO votes on whether the application is ready to move to Production.
- Provide Project Management status reporting throughout the SQA and UAT Test Cycles
- Pull and analyze Daily Testing Reports are pulled from Jira and sent to the Product team for transparency and communication during testing cycles.
- Support development of communication products and briefings on the status of project activities.
- Provide technical support to the various teams involved in developing VA software solutions.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the system(s) and represent the VA product team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific /technical discipline with 10 years or 18 without a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong background in developing, executing, and managing technical test plans and procedures.
- Experience in the use of Jira, GitHub, and other Agile reporting and development tools.
- Experience in Agile development and rapid delivery of capabilities.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience working as a contractor or an employee for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Knowledge of end-to-end systems, particularly with excellent industry knowledge and expertise
- Background in Oracle testing
Desired Professional Certification(s): Agile, CSM, SAFe
