Quality Engineer

Brief Description
Under the direction of the General Manager of Quality & Production Control, coordinates, implements, and maintains the quality control function to the requirements of current ISO Standards.

Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate quality control to ensure the meeting or exceeding of quality specifications and standards of ISO Code.

Establish and implement quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and standards for raw materials and for in-process and finished products.

Audit quality systems, initiating corrective action as required.

Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques and quality assurance plans.

Develop process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards.

Develop training for and train employees on ISO standards, quality related practices, and system requirements.

Produce quality reports; analyze information, and address and resolve problem areas.

Develop and lead cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues and to improve levels of quality and productivity.

Provide technical assistance to customers, vendors, and other departments of the company.

Resolve any quality issues.

Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product or quality standards where warranted.

Review all complaints received from customers to determine corrective action.

Provide assistance to customers regarding quality problems or concerns.

Develop and maintain departmental budget; ensure maximum utilization of resources within budget constraints.

Review and approve equipment purchases.

Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures and all quality and safety regulations; to include Environmental Health and Safety and Kaizen.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Position: No

Work Environment: Standard office environment. Some work in well-lit machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to do most work while sitting, but may be required to stand, climb, or crawl. Staff members will do seldom lifting.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in business or quality preferred
• Knowledge of ISO quality systems preferred
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
• Knowledge of quality concepts and procedures
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
• 0-2 years of experience preferred.
