LifeGift is actively pursuing a Tissue Donation Specialist to facilitate the recovery process of bone and other tissues and organs under highly sterile conditions to be processed and distributed for transplant and/or research.

Do you possess the following attributes to be a successful Tissue Donation Specialist?

  • Passionate, compassionate, professional
  • Perform aseptic recovery of all tissues according to LifeGift policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation during the procurement process and provide necessary data to maintain organization records.
  • Perform donor identification, reconstruction and postmortem body preparation and assist with clean-up of the operating room and/or recovery area.
  • Arrange for courier pick-up of tissue and paperwork specific to tissue.
  • Will work with organ donation specialist staff to support the development of community hospital’s tissue donor referral programs and assist the staff with in-service education for hospital personnel, physicians, and the public, as needed.
  • Keep tissue recovery supplies and equipment at optimal operating levels.
  • Train new tissue recovery personnel as directed by management
  • Perform tissue recoveries in timely manner according LifeGift and processor standards
  • Ability to proactively support organ, eye and tissue donation
  • Perform aseptic recovery of all tissues according to LifeGift policies and procedures.

Do you have the education and experience to be a Tissue Donation Specialist?
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of clinical experience. Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) preferred. A Valid Texas driver’s license.
