Receptionist
Location: Catholic Community Services of Utah, Basic Needs - Ogden, 2504 F Ave, Ogden, UT 84401
Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
Hiring Range: $14.00-$16.00/ hr. DOE

Job Description:
This position is the primary point of contact for all clients, donors, and volunteers seeking initial assistance. This position will be responsible for screening clients for initial eligibility and providing appropriate referrals when needed. This position should be familiar with community resources and Catholic Community Services (CCS) programs. This position will also answer phones, schedule appointments, put together forms for programs, and give appropriate referrals to clients. This position will also give support to the Office Manager and other staff when needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Major Position Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to telephone and walk-in requests.
- Ensure that all office forms are up to date and available for clients, including food calendars, applications, etc.
- Provide advocacy including referrals for clients in crisis situations.
- Conduct initial client eligibility screenings and provide access to services as appropriate.
- Certify eligibility for food assistance & issuing food cards.
- Assist with data entry support for the Programs Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment - inside/outside, office, warehouse, noise, temperature, etc.
- All work is inside the office and/or pantry, in temperature-controlled areas.
Physical Demands include bending, sitting, lifting, and driving
- Long periods of sitting are required.
- Occasional lifting and bending with light items.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications required.
- Excellent data entry skills are required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to meet deadlines while working on several projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Understanding of the challenges facing low-income families and the value of collaboration with other service agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills including listening to and observing clients in order to identify their broad range of needs, knowing and communicating the related resources and the means of accessing them.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Education, training, and or experience:
- One to two years of related experience required; nonprofit, direct client services, or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Word, and Excel.
Background Screen/BCI requirement
- Must be able to pass BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications, and credentials
- Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per occurrence, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.
Position status and expected schedule
- Part-time, non-exempt, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to noon
