RECRUITER

The Recruiter performs research, develops, and implements effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified, dedicated and capable talent to support the mission of Catholic Charities. The Recruiter facilitates and implements all phases of the recruitment process to support successful hiring and serves as a link between the candidate and hiring manager during the interview and employment offer process. The Recruiter will help build a dedicated team of employees working in multi site building locations serving program participants and clients living in local communities.

  • Build partnerships with various levels of management to understand the requirements, duties and qualifications desired for vacant and new positions both exempt and non-exempt.
  • Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting and retention methods and strategies based on the available role, needs of the organization and industry standards.
  • Identify budgeted pay ranges and incentives, make recommendations as necessary. Consult with finance staff as needed.
  • Identify position exemption status in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Ensure employees exemption status is compliant per the FLSA, prepare reports for annual review.
  • Prepare compensation reports and perform salary surveys.
  • Write detailed, engaging and accurate job descriptions, collaborate with Vice Presidents and managers for approval. Enter position title and job descriptions into ADP database.
  • Assist with job posting and advertising process, screen applications and select qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Attend and conduct interviews with Vice Presidents, directors, managers and other stakeholders as required.
  • Checks candidates references and credentials, verifying experience and background.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or human resource staff during the offer process.
  • Process candidate CORI/SORI, consult with hiring manager. Prepare offer letter and negotiate offer of employment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and Catholic Charities policies.
  • Complete and file Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) reports.
  • Attend and participate in job fairs, networking and recruiting sessions.
  • Offer Zoom sessions for CCAB managers to learn best practices in hiring.

Expected qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred. SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential or other certification a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other employment laws and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews and negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Team oriented. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Teams and other technology.
