What You'll Be Doing

The Reentry Case Manager is responsible for providing case management and resource coordination for the Wake Local Reentry Council, a program of Capital Area Workforce Development (CAWD). Services will focus on individuals transitioning from the State and Federal prison systems. To be successful in this position, the candidate will have experience managing large caseloads and coordinating supportive services, including basic needs, transportation, employment, and housing assistance. The Case Manager determines eligibility and completes intakes, interacts with participants and partners, tracks performance data and maintains accurate documentation, advocates for needed services, and works closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assist in decision making. Working effectively with participants requires high energy and enthusiasm as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Lived experience and Spanish language proficiency preferred.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Combination of experience and education including an Associate's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field

Related Life Experience

Three years of work-related experience
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Three years experience providing effective intervention strategies and case management within reentry or the judicial system
Relative Life Experiences
Proficient Bilingual English/Spanish communicator
How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
Ability to effectively utilize the core elements of case management including assessment, planning, quality standards for services, follow-up, and monitoring
Knowledge of reentry best practices, the judicial and criminal justice systems, and person-centered care
Ability to deescalate high-intensity situation and appropriately manage conflict
Spanish proficiency- verbal and written
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with participants and service providers by listening, understanding, and responding to identified needs
Excellent organizational skills and ability to maximize the use of time to manage diverse tasks accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet business needs (e.g., Microsoft Office, and electronic document management system)
Individual Contributor Competencies include: Attention to Detail, Communication, Customer Service, Problem Solving, Professionalism, and Interpersonal Skills.
