Job description

We are looking for a dynamic fit to join our Telepsychiatry program as a Referral Specialist. With minimal direction and considerable latitude for independent judgement, the referral specialist is responsible for all aspects of the referrals made to the Telepsychiatry department from nursing homes across the state of NY. This position maintains an expert level of understanding of the program and division within the department of Psychiatry. The referral specialist will work closely with the staff in the program, specifically the Health and Senior Health Project Coordinators. This position serves as a liaison between the telepsychiatry team and our external customers. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time-management and organizational skills, as well as enthusiasm for supporting our mission to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsible for monitoring own performance on assigned tasks. Self-directed, must make moderate level decisions.

Typical Duties:

*Work Queue Referral Coordination

*Scheduling new and follow up visits with the assigned liaison from the nursing home

*Handles internal and external inquiries regarding services

*Assists in problem identification and resolution with the Project Coordinators as well as program nurses

*Clinical Support Specialist - serves as master scheduler for all clinical staff

*eRecord management, scheduling, check-ins, etc.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required

Associate's degree in Medical, Secretarial or related field preferred

2 years of relevant experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills; high level of attention to details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour

• Medical office: 2 years (Preferred)
