- Maintain all student records according to established procedures and applicable laws and regulations
- Consult with and meet with students, faculty, and administrators to resolve problems and concerns related to student records, including compliance with FERPA and other laws and regulations.
- Oversee and assist with development of the annual college catalog and other official publications.
- Supervise the annual academic program approval process with the Iowa Department of Education and subsequent maintenance of curriculum and degree audits in student information system.
- Supervise evaluation of transfer credit from other colleges and universities and evaluation of student credentials for graduation.
- Prepare the college’s responses to external requests for access to students’ educational records, including subpoenas.
- Provide oversight of commencement activities.
- Support campus staff working with student information system by providing guidance, training and documentation.
- Oversee regular student data imports to student information system including admission applications, placement scores, major changes, advisor assignments and transcript orders.
- Oversee the administration of veteran’s services and benefits.
- Ensure accuracy of data required for state and federal reports, including MIS and IPEDS, related to student records and curriculum.
- Assist in troubleshooting student data anomalies.
- Participate in training, and creation and maintenance of documentation for users of the student information system.
- Direct and coordinate administrative withdrawal processes in compliance with college policy and federal financial aid regulations.
- Manage department budget in alignment with division of student services priorities.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
- Master’s degree in student affairs, education, or related field plus 5 or more years of experience in a college or university setting.
- Experience working in a college or university Office of the Registrar
- Strong knowledge of state and federal requirements related to student records maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of information technology systems, including student information systems.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and knowledge of trends and issues related to community college education and student success initiatives.
- A demonstrated ability to work as a member of a diverse team.
- Include any required licenses, certifications or registrations needed to be considered for the position.
- Experience in managing Ellucian (Colleague) student records systems
- Work experience in a community college setting
