Job description
The Respite Care Worker is responsible for providing temporary care to a Waiver child in order to provide a parent/caregiver with a needed break so as to ease the stress at home and improve family harmony.

Payrate: $20hr
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Essential Functions:
- Work with children who have Serious Emotional Disturbance (S.E.D.) in
- community and home environments.
- Supervises and engages the child in recreational activities which support the
- child’s constructive interests and abilities.
- Works in collaboration with the provider and parents to ensure that the child’s needs are met when engaged in respite care activities.
- Document services provided.
- Maintain open communication with child and family related to planned activities,
- observed behavior, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- 1 year of experience working or volunteering with children with special needs and their families.
- Ability to work amongst diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
- Good written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and have some knowledge with using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Strong time management skills.
- Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Bengali, Urdu and others, may be required depending on client needs
