LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University (WBU) - San Antonio Campus
SUPERVISED BY: Director of the University Store
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The University Store Associate-San Antonio Campus oversees the day-to-day operations of the University Store.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- Maintain appearance of WBU merchandise and sales floor
- Oversee merchandise and inventory
- Answer the main line of the University Store.
- Process Daily Paperwork
- Any additional needs that are requested by the Director of the University Store
- Help with counting inventory
- Keep in contact with the Director of the University Store and/or University Store Textbook Manger to order general merchandise
- Be a liaison for the University Store between San Antonio faculty and staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Certification and License:
- High School Diploma or GED required with emphasis on office management/office skills desired
Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in retail, preferably in managing a bookstore operation
- A deep commitment to Christian Higher Education and agreement with the purposes and philosophy of higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and WBU in particular
- An understanding of and commitment to work with educational programs related to churches, businesses, industries, and the military
- Experience in the area of management and supervising staff
Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess good computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint experience
- Must possess a working knowledge of the University Power Campus program
- Must possess a working knowledge of the WinPRISM program
- Must possess good verbal and written skills plus good listening skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills
- Ability to understand and interpret personnel policies and procedures
- Ability to be flexible, prioritize and available to work extended hours as needed
- Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others
- Service orientation – actively looks for ways to help people and solve their problems
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel and teach at external campuses. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record. The candidate will be subject to a background check and may be requested to take a drug test.
