POSITION SUMMARY


The Retail Stores Operations Manager is responsible for the operational and financial performance strategies of all Pendleton Woolen Mill’s stores. This positions creates and enforces operational, customer service and safety policies and procedures compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Partners with Director of Stores to achieve sales, margin and inventory plans by location and ensures Company strategic objectives are supported across all stores.
  • Responsible for financial results related to loss prevention, inventory shrink, store banking, store supplies expense and other related financial transactions from store activities.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and process improvement initiatives that are necessary to improve the operational efficiency of all stores.
  • Coordinates and leads groups involved in Operational areas of responsibilities. Mentors team members to implement best practices across all levels.
  • Implements and manages workflows for all store projects: opening, closing, relocating, remodels and store updates. Meets deadlines with quality results.
  • Coordinates store services installs and maintenance – media, music, alarm, conversion trackers, etc.
  • Develops and implements appropriate retail policies and procedures. Maintains ongoing updates of the Policy & Procedure and Training Manuals as well as the Employee Handbook in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Actively seeks improved efficiencies for supplies, organization, and safety within stores. Communicates and follows up with stores.
  • Leads loss prevention initiative for stores. Oversees the annual physical inventory process including scheduling, IS coordination and reconciliation.
  • Leads the training initiatives and compliance of inventory management activities. Actively pursues inventory discrepancy resolutions to ensure store product assortments and allocations are not compromised.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY AND LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position leads individual cohorts based on project type.
  • This position carries company credit in order to purchase store and department related expenses and approves the purchase of the Operations Coordinator.

CORE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills to summarize key highlights, analysis and action plans.
  • High level of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and collaborate as a member of a team to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge.
  • Organization, attention to detail and follow through to completion.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with management, internal, and external resources.
  • Effective project management with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Management, Business Management, or a related area of study. Equivalent education and/or experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years’ experience of multi-store Management
  • 3 years’ experience in Retail Store Operations / Project Management
  • Retail planning and math aptitude

SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong technical aptitude, including advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly master new applications and systems
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • NetSuite, SCIS and RF-Smart systems knowledge is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Travel required between multiple worksites within a variety of geographical areas to complete store projects
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and have physical dexterity
