THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Rotary Die Cut Operator for our plant in Rancho Cordova, CA. The Rotary Die Cut Operator primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks in the manufacturing of corrugated boxes that include stacking corrugated product, conducting quality checks, machine set-up, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safe, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company.

Responsibilities

· Lead by example regarding safety policies. Hold assistants accountable for following all OSHA and company safety rules and policies.

· Maintains safe and clean work environment.

· Set up and run machine based on factory ticket.

· Mount print plates and cutting dies.

· Monitor ink and print quality.

· Verify waste and finished good counts.

· Efficiently complete daily production schedule.

· Perform consistent/timely quality checks to ensure compliance throughout run.

· Ability to learn, retain and teach processes and equipment operations to new employees.

· Ensure all production paperwork is accurate and turned in.

· Ensures proper operation of machinery by reporting all issues to the Production Supervisor.

· Complete preventative maintenance tasks on time.

· Other duties may be assigned as required.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

· Self-starter with a minimum 2 years of experience in paper converting.

· Mechanically inclined

  • Ability to work overtime

· Ability to work standing up for 8+ hours a day

· Ability to lift 50lbs

· Punctual with predictable attendance

· Ability to read a tape measure

· Forklift certification

· Intermediate computer skills desired

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

· Ability to pass a drug screen/background check

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb and/or balance on equipment and across conveyor equipment using platforms three to four inches in width.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee is required to handle a utility knife regularly

Reports To: Production Supervisor/Manager

Additional Exam: Ability to pass a color site exam.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
