Job Description:
SUMMARY:
The Safety Leader will support the organization by providing site safety leadership, ensure facility compliance with Corporate safety standards, implement safety directives, improve safety performance, and ensure facility safety policies and procedures are aligned with Corporate culture and governmental regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and implements safety-related programs and processes meant to prevent injuries, fires, or other workplace accidents.
- Inspects the workplace and identifies and addresses potential safety hazards.
- Creates and delivers safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency procedures.
- Investigates incidents or accidents, gathers and analyzes statistics, and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Prepares and submits accident reports in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safety data sheets, online safety data sheet system, and secondary container labeling system.
- Coordinate shipping of hazardous materials throughout all Green Bay locations.
- Preparing or completing forms/websites related to safety for customers.
- Administer worker’s compensation program.
- Provides coaching and/or mentoring to leaders and team members across sites.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or related field, and 6+ years of experience.
- Experience in environmental health and safety is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO, DOT) for product and facility safety.
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to build trust and confidence with management and associates.
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:
This position directly supervises other associates.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about occasionally.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.
- Travel by air or car occasionally.
