June 1-16, 2023- August 24, 2023- November 2023JOB GOAL: To work with students and specialized groups through the professional application of social work practice in the treatment of mental and emotional conditions that may inhibit a students academic progress. To provide assessment, diagnosis and direct services to students in consultation with the student including the family, administrators, teachers, and other service providers. Individual will support Mental Health Services throughout the building based on need. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Serves as the Intervention Team Coordinator.2.Works closely with students who are considered at risk and, with parent explicit approval, makes appropriate referrals to community resources as needed or requested.3.Serves as principals designee in matters of suspected physical or sexual abuse of students.4.Serves as a member of the Middle School Crisis Response Team.5.Assists guidance department with scheduling of students into classes appropriate to their academic and/or developmental needs.6.Acts as liaison to the Juvenile Court for students who might be brought before the Court for various reasons.7.Assists the administration with students who avoid attending school due to social and/or emotional reasons.8.Collaborates and consults with the Special Needs Department and offers direct services as needed.9.Makes home visits for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a students background or for provision of direct services to the student and/or family in a crisis situation.10.Offers group counseling and social groups as may be needed and/or appropriate.11.Provides direct short term/crisis counseling services for students and/or their families for a variety of social, emotional, behavioral, and familial issues.12.Acts as liaison with outside agencies and independent practitioners.13.Coordinates all support services with the Middle School and the community if a Middle School tragedy occurs.14.Provides other services appropriate to credentials that may be required by the School Administrators.15.Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about the student as is expected of a fully licensed teacher/professional.16.Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through the interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data, and works with students in evolving education and occupation plans in terms of such evaluation.17.Remains readily available to students so as to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding and maturity.18.Takes an active role in interpreting the schools objectives to students, parents, and the community at large.19.Works with teachers and other staff members to familiarize them with the general range of services offered by the student personnel services department, and to improve the educational prospects of individual students being counseled.20.Helps students evaluate career interests and choices.21.Confers with parents when necessary.22.Provides orientation of incoming middle school students.

23.Attends all grade 5-6 transition meetings, meets with incoming grade 6 students and teachers.24.Registers Grade 6-8 students new to the school and orients them to school procedures and the schools varied opportunities for learning.25.Performs related duties as directed by the Principal.
