Position: Seasonal Youth Ambassador
Hourly Rate: $15.00
Dates: 5/31/22 – 6/30/22
Youth Ambassadors: Ages16-19 yrs. old
YMCA’s: Menino (Hyde Park), Egleston Roxbury, and Dorchester
Hourly rate: $15
Schedule:
- 10.5 hours weekly
- Monday – Thursday: 4:30pm-6:30PM at the Roxbury, Dorchester, Egleston or the Menino YMCA
We are looking for 20 champions who will work within their communities (Dorchester, Hyde Park, Egleston and Roxbury) to promote and educate about the COVID-19 Vaccine Safety and Efficacy! These ambassadors will inspire, educate and engage community members about the health and safety of our communities. Young People will host family engagement events at the YMCA as they raise awareness and learn about the community. Youth Ambassadors will do photo- and video essays and present a community project at the end of their session. The youth projects will contain, photographing and videotaping their community, including interviews with family and YMCA employees.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct community outreach;
- Provide outdoor tabling in communities to raise awareness (Hyde Park, Mattapan, Dorchester, Egleston, and Roxbury community)
- Develop/support a workshop (skit) about the importance of vaccine safety and efficacy. End of the session group presentation
- Host/plan outdoor community events
- Educating YMCA members and employees about the vaccine, interviewing groups to learn about their thoughts on the vaccine, and supporting messaging on social media platforms to spread awareness with youth. Youth will travel to Boston Y’s.
