This position helps to reduce crime in Santa Cruz County and surrounding Bay Area communities through a technology-based crime prevention service operated from our offices in Downtown Santa Cruz.

The position involves receiving incoming alerts from our detection software, using security cameras to assess the situation, then responding appropriately to the situation using our remote PA systems. This is a very fast paced position that requires strong judgement, quick thinking, and good computer skills as well as a calm personality and steadfast professionalism. At the end of every night you will feel like you've made a tangible difference protecting people and property in our community.

This is a desk job, with a shift between 6am and 11:30am on Sturday and Sunday (11 hours/week). Starting pay is $15/hour and increases with experience. There is opportunity for additional hours and shifts as experience increases.

Job Description:

• Location: Office space in downtown Santa Cruz
• Hours: 6am-11:30am Saturday, Sunday, and all holidays
• Pay: Starting at $18/hour and increasing with experience, there’s opportunity for additional hours based on performance

Position requirements:

• Respond to incoming alerts quickly,
• Assess the situation, decide the best course of action, and respond accordingly.
• Use our remote PA system to proactively intervene and deter crime when needed
• Work with law enforcement and customers to ensure good communication about incidents
• Log incidents in a professional and thorough manner for customers to review
• Provide feedback and insight to management about how to provide a better, more accurate service
