About us:

5 Star Cares provides support to individuals who have developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities to live a meaningful life in both home and community settings. We do this through a focus on Person-Centered practices.

We specialize in providing care to patients that have intellectual and developmental disabilities with moderate to severe nursing needs. We provide 24-hour nursing care by our Nurses and support staff who assist with a variety of medical needs. We provide the same level of care as an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Some of our patients receive care for g/j-tubes, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), ventilator care, and Diabetes. Our ownership team is health care providers and is focused on addressing issues within the healthcare system. We have low patient-to-staff ratios of 1:2 in most cases and we are considered a less restrictive environment than a nursing home or an ICF. Our patients range in age is from 10 years to 90+ years, requiring 24-hour nursing care.

What You’ll Do at 5 Star Cares

Provide Critical & Intensive Care

Physical Setting: Acute care & Long-term care

License:

Current and active FL or Multistate CNA license (Required)

DSP /HHA training/certification

BLS / CPR card (Required) via AHA or ARC

Requirement:

Great skills working with people.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must possess excellent documentation skills.

Must be willing to help individuals with activities of daily living to include daily hygiene, feeding, exercise, etc.

Must be a team player

Must be able to speak and write in English

Must be dependable

First Aid and CPR certified via AHA or ARC

Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness is preferred

Demonstrated skills in the use of standard medical equipment (Bedside commodes, wheelchairs, shower chairs etc.)
