Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at Gist Silversmiths. As a senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for providing support to our daily operations and ensuring our financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, developing, advising, or assisting with accounting procedures, and ensuring compliance with labor and payroll laws.

Responsibilities:

· Comfortable working with and trouble-shooting common accounting software platforms.

· Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise, such as bugs or performance issues with all accounting software

· Expected to take charge of the learning and training process for new or commonly used software platforms

· Ability to share insights and knowledge of software platforms with your team members

· Troubleshoot accounting discrepancies and errors

· Develop, advise, or assist with accounting procedures and other daily operations

· Knowledge of Nexus sales tax laws for several states. Review and approve monthly sales and tax filings with Avalara

· Manage bank accounts, company credit cards and bank loans

· Enter, review, and reconcile monthly entries and trial balances prior to forwarding on for financial preparation

· Work closely with A/R, and purchasing /Inventory and oversee all entries to GL

· Assist File Maker Cost Designer to integrate personalized forms and enable the transfer of data to and from the accounting

· Provide necessary information for annual commercial and workers’ compensation insurance audits. Manage commercial insurance liability, fire, and workers’ compensation

· Request and review annual quotes for employee benefits package and prepare recommendations for management

· Manage business licenses, contracts and filing of necessary taxes

· Knowledgeable of payroll processing and labor laws

· Establish and sustain functional POS systems for trade show events, while ensuring seamless integration into accounting system

· Administer assets, maintain the depreciation and amortization schedules, as well as manage loan amortization schedules

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred

· 3+ years of experience in a senior bookkeeping role

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, and procedures

· Being a problem solver and troubleshooter is a must

· Experience with software such as Sage Mas and File Maker a plus

· Ability to learn complex software

· Ability to implement and train staff on new software features

· Experience with outlook, and Excel

· Strong organizational and time-management skills

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

· Starting pay (Depending on experience)

$31.00 - $35.00 Hourly

Schedule

· Monday to Friday

· 8:00 am to 4:30pm
