Job description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Technical Services Division is searching for a Senior Inspection Specialist. This position is responsible for conducting annual audits on all state-licensed grain warehouses, performing grain moisture meter inspections, phytosanitary inspections, plant industry, and small-duty weights and measures inspections. additionally, this position will be a subject matter expert in Plant Industry program areas and provide training to other Technical Services staff members on a variety of programs. The successful candidate must possess organizational skills, and be adaptable in time management, communication, and proving effective training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- Assists with developing, implementing, and enforcing Division policies and coordinating the efforts of field operations.
- Performs inspections and enforces compliance.
- Investigates complaints and recommend solutions for problems.
- Maintains records and equipment.
- Develop, plan, and implement training for Plant Industry programs.
- Performs inspections in a variety of regulatory Division programs as required.
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to the candidate that:
- Has a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or agriculture.
- Understands grain markets, trading, and grain warehouse operations.
- Understands GAAP principles.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of computer software and hardware.
- Knowledge of effective training methods.
- Knowledge of government procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of Technical Services Division programs.
- knowledge of government procedures and policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will be exposed to varying weather conditions, working both indoors and outdoors.- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights of over 10 feet.
