Job description
The Moffat Consolidated School District #2, Moffat, Colorado, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 15, 2023.
McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.
Enrollment: 190 students
Location: Northern Saguache County of the San Luis Valley along the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range, 140 miles southwest of Pueblo 45 miles south of Salida, Colorado.
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board developed the following desired characteristics.
- Successfully demonstrated strong organizational leadership and team leadership, preferably as a rural superintendent.
- Experience with grant writing and implementation as well as CTE and enrichment opportunities for students.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships among constituencies.
- Effectively maintained positive and respectful relationships with charter schools.
- Construction and capital project management experience.
- The ability to engage the District in wrap-around community services, recreational programs, and housing partnerships.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining both student enrollment and highly qualified teachers in a rural area.
- A strong understanding of Colorado Department of Education regulations and requirements.
- A friendly social demeanor and a desire to embrace the San Luis Valley lifestyle and to be an integral part of the community.
Salary Range: $110,00 - $125,000
