The Service Contract Project Manager manages and supports service contracts with State, Federal and/or private entities. The work includes being a liaison between Service Contract Supervisors and State, Federal, and/or private customers, as well as providing overall support to service contracts and the Service Contract Director. The incumbent provides leadership and communications for ensuring efficient operation of service contracts. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the yearly budget, report writing and presentation, inspection of facilities to ensure adherence to contract requirement, providing support to service contract supervisors, monitoring inventory of equipment and supplies, and direct labor duties as needed. May require work hours on weekends or after standard business hours. Assignments are typically received in the form of general instructions with the expectation to organize the details of the assignment and carry them through to completion.

Qualifications

High school diploma and four (4) years (or GED and six (6) years) supervisory level experience in janitorial and/or landscaping business; or any equivalent combination of training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills.

  • Knowledge of the basic principles, methods, practices and procedures used in vocational labor and trades specific to janitorial and/or landscaping contracts.
  • Knowledge of the chemicals and hazards associated with cleaning supplies and/or lawn equipment.
  • Ability to use computer and other technology to complete reports (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with customers, management, supervisor, peers, employees, and the public.
  • Ability to plan, instruct, assign and supervise employees with or without disabling conditions or functional limitations.
  • Ability to inspect work and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage employees to obtain their maximum potential.
  • Ability to intervene and utilize de-escalation skill techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees.
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for understanding scope of work for multiple contract sites, providing leadership to ensure efficient operations, inspecting sites to contract standards, communicating with customers, management, supervisors, peers, and employees.
  • Ensures that Contract Services standards and Scope of Services/Statements of Work requirements are met.
  • Ensures that equipment and cleaning chemicals are used properly and safely and that all employees are properly trained.
  • Completes reports for customers and internal use, and presents reports and data (written and/or oral) to customers or management as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials, and ensures that equipment maintenance records are current.
  • Communicates effectively, orally and in writing, with customers, management, supervisor, peers, and the public.
  • Utilizes computer and other technology to complete reports, inventory records, employee documentation, etc.
  • Completes other documentation including employee reports related to service contracts using computer and other technology.
  • May perform duties of Service Contract Supervisor during their absences including maintenance and repair on plumbing, building and lawn equipment as required, operating powered equipment including but not limited to mowers, power edgers, power trimmers, power saws, power blowers, power hedge trimmers, pressure washers, lift equipment, or ladders in a safe and effective manner producing the results as described in the scope of work.
  • Operates a company vehicle, occasionally pulling a trailer with equipment or supplies.
  • Operates standard office equipment to perform essential functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
