POSITION DEFINITION:

The Service Writer is responsible for the intake of repair work for the power equipment service department. Greet customers and listen with exceptional detail, effectively communicating both verbally and written, the concerns for the item being repaired. Contribute effectively for the overall growth of the company through customer engagement, product and service knowledge, follow up and follow through at the service desk and register.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule service appointments. First point of contact for customers on the phone and in store looking to have their equipment or golf cart repaired. Document customer concerns, schedule appointment, understanding needs, communicating the process and timelines, selling parts and service, building mutual trust with the customer and meeting expectations.
• Refer to service history, inspect power equipment or golf cart and recommend additional needed parts or services.
• Under managers direction, provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.

Contact customers regarding any changes in the quote or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail and obtain proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.

• Follow all policies and procedures related to cash, credit, check, refund and return policies. Work with the management team to react appropriately to customer service issues, customer complaints and or business opportunities.
• Precisely, communicate customer repair concerns to mechanic and repair diagnosis from mechanic to customer.
• Under direction of manager, effectively disseminate flow of work order repairs to your team, supplying needed parts and notifying manager of any necessary purchases.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Minimum of either 1 year service writing experience or 1 year mechanical experience required.
• Possess an engaging, high-energy personality and the ability to build rapport and develop trust with customers.
• Strong work ethic, work well as part of a team and take pride in the work you do.
• Ability to work and adapt in a fast pace work environment while managing your time.
• Physically capable to lift 50lbs, frequent reaching, standing and walking.

Salary: Paid hourly and weekly. Hourly rate is based upon your skills and experience.
