As a skate attendant you will have direct contact engaging with guests and play an integral role in providing a comfortably energized atmosphere that piques the imagination and inspires an exciting upbeat Ice Rink experience while encouraging and maintaining the safety of our guests.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Provide prompt, exceptional, courteous, friendly service by greeting guests in a way that differentiates us from the competition.
  • Facilitate the rental, return and care for ice skates at The Ice Rink, including retrieving correct ice skate sizes upon verifying purchase.
  • Collect and sanitize skate rentals in between guest use.
  • Perform guest service functions, including but not limited to welcoming guests to Ice Rink area, handing out and collecting ice skates, skate aides, and other supplies, and attending to guest requests.
  • Assist guests with skate waiver and validating upon completion with a hand stamp.
  • Facilitate the rental and return of skating aids.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Routinely inspect Ice Rink and surrounding areas, identify cleaning needs, potential safety hazards, problems and maintenance or repair needs, and notifies the appropriate individual(s) for proper resolution.
  • Complete side work, including stocking product, and cleaning and organizing service areas.
  • Take accurate counts and inventories as scheduled.
  • Accurately store rental skate inventory on skate racks based on Manager direction.
  • Assist customers in any way necessary by cashiering, helping with merchandise and answering questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner.
  • Process register transactions with a sense of urgency.
  • Perform daily recovery to ensure a neat, clean and organized outlet.
  • Cross-perform in all assigned areas to ensure that merchandise sizing, ticketing and presentation are to company standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Handles all customer issues in a friendly and helpful way, calling a member of the Supervisory Staff when needed.
  • Provides quality service to both internal and external guests, specifically maintaining established quality standards.
  • Promotes good guest relations and provides excellent guest response to complaints.
  • Ensures Ice Rink facility and Food & Beverage outlets meet all federal, state, city, county, corporate, hotel, and departmental standards, requirements, policies, and regulations.
  • Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage.
  • Remains up-to-date on Hotel current events and the details of all food and beverage outlets.
  • Maintains thorough menu and product knowledge.
  • Learns and utilizes guest names at every opportunity.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers.
  • Executes all operational procedures and assists with establishing best practices
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • At least 16 years of age.
  • Understands cash handling, charge card and refund transactions.
  • Working knowledge in all aspects of retail and inventory.
  • Understands loss prevention methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
  • Previous experience working for an ice rink, arena, retail, or guest services.
  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work is performed in outdoor environment. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. Temperatures vary between 15-120 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, CoStars and guests is necessary. Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility. Requires bending and reaching. Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires eye/hand coordination. Requires the use of standard office equipment. Requires the use of an iPad and applications. Requires basic math. Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
