Summary: Manages the organization's purchasing, planning, forecast maintenance and ecommerce warehouse distribution functions. Develops and executes strategies and plans to meet company’s short-term and long-term requirements. This is a management/leadership position and reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain.

  • Participate in Product Support and New Product Development projects for the Supply Chain Department. Sources reasonable cost quality components and finished goods to meet the needs of the project. Ensures project timelines and goals are met.
  • Manages team of buyer/planners at multiple facilities. Conducts performance appraisals, coaches, and provides mentoring to employees to support all Miller locations.
  • Manages the execution of production planning, attends weekly planning meetings to understand and support departmental schedules. Responsible for partnering with Manufacturing to ensure the schedules are accurate, attainable and efficient.
  • Manages and executes procurement related functions. Drafts and manages Miller contracts, develops, and implements procurement frameworks and sourcing strategies. Negotiates complex agreements, develops cost analysis, and provides direction and recommendation regarding supplier selection. Travels occasionally domestically and internationally to audit and source suppliers for capacity, reliability, quality, and risk.
  • Manages Ecommerce warehouse staff to ensure orders are fulfilled within defined service metrics. Develops processes for ecommerce warehouse operations to ensure maximum efficiency and output to keep fulfillment costs low.
  • Responsible for partnering with Engineering to develop and monitor quality performance and improvements. Responsible for negotiating cost effective resolutions to quality and service issues as well as leading supplier side of cost savings initiatives to deliver quality products at a cost-effective price.
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of ERP and works to maximize processes by systems.

Knowledge, Education, Experience and/or Certifications:

  • Requires a BS or BA degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field and at least 5 years supervisory experience as a Supply Chain Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Experience in dealing and negotiating with vendors and suppliers to develop an ongoing business partner relationship.
  • Experienced in purchasing, production planning and logistics functions.
  • Extensive experience in the utilization of all aspects of an ERP system to meet Supply Chain objectives. Act as a subject matter expert to other ERP users.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with all programs in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional PC skills including Manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • On-the-job training may be required.
