Job description
Summary of Position: Performs phlebotomy techniques to obtain blood specimens on patients of all ages. Interprets and transcribes physician orders onto manual requisitions and into the computer Order Entry System. Performs all medically necessary activities required. Assists in lab functions as required for proper specimen accessioning. Assist in training new employees. Assist in clerical functions of department.
Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or GED required. Prior phlebotomy experience preferred. Certification or eligible with a recognized board of registry recommended.
Valid New York State driver's license required. Must be able to be approved to drive under Saratoga Hospital's auto insurance for shifts requiring travel for offsite specimen collection.
