This is a full-time, long-term, temporary assignment.

Job Functions:

• Handle all aspects of domestic transportation and prepare necessary documentation to ensure timely shipment and delivery of goods
• Coordinate and communicate with freight forwarders and 3rd Party Logistics Partners to facilitate overseas transportation of freight and streamline customs clearance
• Build strong relationships with carrier partners and negotiate to balance service and cost
• Track and Trace shipments, as necessary, manually and using systems, to confirm adherence to requested delivery dates and service agreements
• Analyze, develop, and maintain strategic KPIs for measuring logistics performance
• Prepare freight rate quotes and respond to inquiries from commercial team, etc. regarding logistics costs & service
• Provide shipping documents and logistics information to Finance during inquiries and audits
• Ensure internal, external, and governmental regulatory compliance for all transportation moves
• Offer proactive suggestions to improve processes, drive continuous supply chain improvements, and reduce costs
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross-functionally

Qualifications:

• College degree in business or related is preferred
• 2+ Years Logistics/Transportation Planning experience a plus,
• Prefer chemical or related industry
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, SAP experience preferred.
• Must have strong communication skills, manage multiple tasks, and work well under pressure and strict time constraints
• Hazardous material certification preferred. Understanding of DOT, IMO and IATA regulations
