POSITION SUMMARY: The Packer prepares customer orders for shipping.

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of Maintenance on all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shipping and Receiving experience a strong plus!
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work irregular hours
