JOB
Construct, repair and maintain metal portions of assigned City facilities and equipment using welding methods and techniques; review work orders and assess equipment and materials required for each task; respond to emergencies and perform field repairs and perform other technical maintenance duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.Job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years technical training in metal technology, welding, or fabrication; andTwo (2) years welding experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's license or ability to obtain by date of hirePossession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire. Possession of AWS (American Welding Society) Welder Certification preferred.
