• 
  Provide ongoing supervision, training and support to Youth Specialists around their prescribed duties, in consult with Management team. Recommend disciplinary action as appropriate. Enforce the collective bargaining agreement and the work rules fairly and consistently.

• In conjunction with the Director of Group Living, oversee the flow of the work shift and assist Senior Youth Specialists as needed, including functioning as both Senior Youth Specialist/Youth Specialist when required.

• Coordinate and post activity schedule for recreational, cultural, religious and other activities. Serve as the liaison for Special Olympics.

• Monitor implementation of approved milieu treatment programs and individual treatment goals. Function as co-leader of treatment team developing treatment goals with clinicians and assuring timely, consistent implementation.

• Assist in crisis management through review of incident reports involving residents in harmful or dangerous behaviors; de-briefing post event to assure that physical management is conducted in accordance with agency procedures. Assist in review of video of physical management techniques.

• Assure youth specialists provide complete, timely and accurate documentation including logs, one on one sheets, point sheets, accountability sheets, and incident reports. Develop methods for routinely monitoring same. Routinely audit documentation including logs, charts, bedwetting charts.

• Provide back up to the Director of Group Living in his absence with completing weekly schedules, approving payroll and assisting with emergency scheduling of employees.

• Reinforce approved methods of physical management, crisis de-escalation, appropriate child development, behavior management strategies in conjunction with management team.

• Participate in the selection and hiring of Youth Specialists.

• Assign and monitor group living staff to purchase required toiletries, personal hygiene supplies, and clothing for residents in accordance with agency budget guidelines.

• Arrange for routine inspection and cleaning of units/staff office and residential bedrooms.

• Maintain availability to intervene in crisis situations after normal business hours and on weekends

• A bachelor's degree from a accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience in child caring institution -OR-
• The equivalent of 2 years of completed coursework from an accredited college or university and 3 years of work experience in a child caring institution -OR-
• A high school diploma and 4 years of work experience in a child caring institution.
