Job description

The part-time Youth Sports Manager is responsible for the coordination, scheduling and compliance to protocols for 17 seasonal sports for student-athletes, Preschool-Grade 8, within our school/parish.

This is an hourly, year-round hourly, non-exempt position averaging 20-25 hours per week. Retirement benefits and paid time off benefits are available. This position has a hybrid work schedule with in-office, on court/field and remote work. Nights and weekends are necessary.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify and assess current and emerging sports, program participation rates and potential training and development opportunities for student athletes.

• Foster a culture of faith and good sportsmanship for young student athletes.

• Plan and communicate the annual sports calendar of events to coaches, referees, parents and participants. Observe coaches during practices and games as needed or required. Provide training opportunities as needed.

• Utilize a centralized registration and scheduling system, and standardized communication through our website, Facebook, GroupMe and GameDay. Ensure 100% compliance with policy and procedures from volunteers and coaches.

• Schedule gym/field usage, staff and volunteers during onsite games.

• Negotiate contracts with vendors for uniform, equipment and space rentals.

• Create standard operating procedures for athletics and ensure compliance to those procedures.

• Reconcile weekly receipts and expenses. Create yearly budgets for sports programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or associates degree preferred, but not required. Progress towards degree in sports management beneficial. Candidates must be highly proficient in using the computer, websites (Word Press) and social media, and can type quickly. Must be 18 years of age and submit to background and credit checks. Archdiocese of Louisville Honor Thy Child Training is required.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and must be able to drive with a valid driver's license and insurance.

Working conditions:

• Position requires nights and weekends.

• Travel is necessary to for onsite visits to practice and game locations.
