Accounts Receivable Specialist
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will maintain and monitor accounts receivable’s customer records, files, and accounts. You will work directly with customers as well as branch operations, and effectively resolve customer queries, specifically focused on insurance related jobs with policy holder deductible due. This role works a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up on unpaid invoices.
- Collect and process credit card payments.
- Supply payment instructions for submitting ACH payments or checks to lockboxes.
- Carryout collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payment, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Review accounts receivable aging and act to encourage timely payments.
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
- Follow established procedures and policies for receipt processing.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries with branch locations and Quality Assurance Team.
- Submit adjustment requests using proper procedures.
- Log customer contact discussion and next steps in custom computer system.
- Work with Billing and Collection Specialist when needed.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, or mail.
- Utilize Insurance Provider software for research.
- Report customer complaints to local office managers for resolution and provide support.
- Update account status records.
- Keep accurate records for reporting on collection/payment activity.
- Facilitate Aged Receivable Reports and supporting documentation when requested from Partner and Alliance Programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable functions.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures.
- 1 – 3 years of accounts receivable or related work experience. (Desired)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient Excel Skills
- Knowledge of insurance claims and deductibles. (Desired)
