Summary

Job Summary

The Chair for the ASN Program reports to the Chief Nurse Administrator. The Chair leads faculty in the daily functions of the ASN program and displays excellence in teaching, scholarship, recruiting/mentoring of faculty, front-line management, and service to students, the College, and the community. The Chair’s role includes, but is not limited to, various administrative decisions in consultation with the Chief Nurse Administrator, corresponding processes, and accreditation tasks as appropriate and/or assigned; such are to be performed and focused on alignment with the College’s Core Values

Job Requirements

Education :
Must hold Master of Science in Nursing degree from regionally-accredited institution.

Education Preferred : Terminal degree or Certified Nurse Educator.

Experience:
Must have at least three (3) years of Nursing teaching experience.

Must have at least three (3) years of Nursing clinical experience.

Experience Preferred:
At least five (5) years of teaching, as well as administrative experience.

At least five (5) years of clinical experience.

Skills:

Demonstrates a positive attitude, ability and hopefulness about coaching, conviction to transform weaknesses into opportunities.

Displays vision and solid management, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills, such as conflict resolution.

Exhibits interprofessional approach and student-centered philosophy.

Ability to communicate with and support a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds, including respect for cultural, ethnic, and individual differences.

Experience with various computer programs, central administrative systems.

Licensure/Certification:
Must hold unencumbered state Registered Nurse license.
