TITLE: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (BHT)

SUPERVISES: VOLUNTEERS & INTERNS

STATUS: FULL - TIME OR PART- TIME,

SHIFT: DAY, NIGHT and WEEKEND SHIFT

Job Summary:

Paradise Lodge is seeking for a passionate Behavioral Health Technicians to offer behavioral health services to adults recovering from substance addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders. Paradise Lodge has a 7 – bed Behavioral Health Residential Facility located in the City of Maricopa, AZ. Our goal is to help Residents attain sobriety and mental wellness. The BHT is expected to understand and implement individual treatment plans, record Resident behavior and provide a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age

Must be eligible to work in the United States,

Current CPR-First Aid certification

AZ Class one Fingerprint Clearance Card

A current negative TB skin test or chest x-ray if you had a positive TB skin or blood test in the past

6 Months of behavioral health experience in a Behavioral Health setting or psychiatric hospital

Two (2) character references

Must be willing to submit to random drug screen

Must have a valid AZ driver’s license to drive company vehicle.

Must be able to work weekend or holidays, if assigned

Strong organizational and computer skills (Company has a paperless policy, all written notes must be typed into computer)

Experience

Familiarity with adult population with Behavioral health disorder in a Behavioral Health facility

Experience in dealing with residents with behavioral health co-occurring disorders

Experience and ability to work with challenging behaviors

Education

High school diploma or GED or College Credits Preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Understanding of services needed for residents with behavioral health issues.

Understands and able to identify medications commonly prescribed for mental disorder is preferred

Must demonstrate skills, knowledge and protection of resident’s rights;

Able to read and implement residents’ treatment plan;

Demonstrate leadership and be a role model for peer reports.

Able to identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and common side effects and adverse reactions of the medications.

Complete progress and incident reports,

Assistance with self-administration of medication,

Facilitate group and individual counselling sessions

Crisis Prevention Intervention and de-escalation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
