Buckeye International is seeking a Chemical Operator to join our Renaissance Performance Polymers Division at our corporate facility in Maryland Heights, MO. This position is responsible for operating & monitoring batch chemical processes, reactors, blend vessels, and storage tanks in manual mode and with a computerized process control system. This includes compliance and safety responsibilities, inventory control, bulk material handling, and cleaning.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Have a good working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, manufacturing techniques, atmospheric controls, chemical addition, filtration methods, control of exothermic reactions and adjustment of rates of addition of equipment used.
• Perform drumming operations, including unloading and loading tank wagons.
• Complete all necessary batch paperwork, including log sheets & checklists.
• Collects samples and submit them to the QC lab with all required information.
• Have the ability to operate all fork lifts and material moving equipment.
• Inventory control through cycle counts, batch logs, and filling documentation.
• Understand & demonstrate compliance with HMIS, SDS's, HAZCOM, HAZWASTE, LO/TO, PSM, PPE protocol & other safety requirements.

Skills/Qualifications/Etc.:

• Chemical operating experience preferred, but not required.
• Haz Mat experience is a plus.
• This division operates on a 24/5 week work schedule with 10 hour shifts from 2:00 pm - 12:00 am. Must be able to work shift differentials.
• Requires being on feet for great lengths of time and frequently lifting 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED required
• Good math skills and attention to detail required.
