Fast-growing civil engineering firm based in the attractive Southern metro area of Charleston, South Carolina seeks a Civil Designer to participate in projects from concept through design, permitting and construction. Cypress Engineering works on a wide range of site development projects, including commercial, healthcare, senior living, educational, industrial, multi-family and municipal.

Key Outcomes
- Produce excellent design work that fulfills client’s needs and expectations. Civil Designer will generally work on 5-10 projects in design phase at any point in time, completing 10-20 projects per year depending on scope and complexity.
- Exude company culture every day
- Participate in developing project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, and cost estimates
- Produce excellent design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR, Excel among other programs
- As required, conduct construction phase monitoring, inspections, and testing
- Coordinate with Civil Project Leader and Administrative Leader regarding schedule, resource allocation, and project delivery
- Communicate with other disciplines daily to ensure project success
- Support Administrative Leader’s completion of permitting efforts
- Help fuel the firm’s growth by:
- Taking responsibility for your own professional development and growth
- Growing into Civil Project Leader role
Competencies and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Work experience in Civil Engineering Design preferred (specific experience in commercial, healthcare, senior living, industrial, and/or school design experience is ideal)
- Creative, productive designer using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Preferred: PE license in South Carolina
- Ability to communicate in a clear, timely, and professional way with other disciplines, leading to alignment of expectations and results
- Ability to collaborate with other team members, contributing to a positive work environment where team members can flourish
- Commitment and follow-through on the myriad details that lead to project success
