Sundance is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Digital Graphic Designer to join our team. Sundance is a leading omni-channel specialty retailer with headquarters located in Salt Lake City, UT. The Digital Graphic Designer is a proactive, multi-tasker with a “can-do” attitude. This position requires the ability to create designs for all digital efforts, specifically relating to seasonal offerings as they launch on the website and retail assets as needed. Implements and manages design standards throughout the entire production process while ensuring all materials are delivered on time. Is flexible, with the sense that changes are inevitable and must be addressed head-on. Has the ability to follow Sundance schedules, calendars and adhere to the yearly production schedule. Most importantly, is organized, a team player, respectful of peers and is excited to work on multiple projects at a time.
Responsibilities
- This position focuses on, and is responsible for, creating seasonal digital design assets for site creative and social ads, as well as support for marketing emails. Participates in reviews of, and makes needed edits to, the cadence of site creative and email campaigns
- Manages and is responsible for the accuracy, production and implementation of site assets; delegating as possible to the Digital Design Assistant(s). Places photography, copy and font treatments to digital design assets
- Works hand-in-hand with Digital Design Associates and Assistants as well as the Digital Production Team, supporting and working toward an elevated customer experience. Mentoring and providing constructive feedback to design associate(s) and production associate(s)
- Creates final designs that meet and elevate the Sundance brand. Assure the integrity of all digital assets is maintained during editing processes prior to final handoff
- Concepts new layouts and seasonal style guides for each new season. Upholds the Sundance brand across multi-device platforms, creating a cohesive experience from print to digital
- Participates in seasonal marketing and merchandising brainstorm meetings to develop themes, shops and stories; translating these ideas into digital designs for the site and email campaigns
- Attending meetings related to scheduling and reviews. Helping guide calendar dates, processes and marketing briefs with creative team, production team and marketing team for all seasonal offers to ensure deadlines are appropriate and achievable
- Collaborates with Studio Manager to ensure digital photography requests are being communicated and submitted properly and on time to the Studio Manager; including file names; product information and meeting deadlines. Discuss concepts with studio art director(s) as needed
- Assist in sending for approval, all customer-facing and internal digital assets including site creative, promotions, social ads and emails for brand cohesion, accuracy, standards and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Auditing seasonal customer-facing site creative and emails: ensure integrity of crops, spelling, linking and color presentation
- Have fluent knowledge of archival system, servers, and coding and backup locations for images, creative files and all departmental resources. Assist in finding editorial and archived, abstract photography and design files. Helping to solve storage issues, provide information and suggest improvements. Bring to light issues as they arise
- Bachelor’s Degree in web design, fine arts, graphic design, or similar. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Three to five (3-5)+ years of related experience in web design and/or graphic design preferred
- Extensive experience and knowledge of graphic and website design across multiple devices and platforms. Knowledge of bootstrap, responsive design and admin systems a big plus
- Must have a sophisticated taste level
- Knowledge of typography, including but not limited to: kerning, tracking, spacing, as well as the ability to research new fonts for appropriate communications. Good understanding of color concepts
- Extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Acrobat, Dropbox, Workfront
- Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jump and Slack
- Effective time management and the ability to delegate, as needed
- Ability to prioritize tasks and shift gears when necessary. Thrives on multi-tasking and juggling projects. Is flexible and focuses on solving problems
