Position: Grant Writer/Coordinator

Supervisor: Chief Finance Leader

Job Status: Full Time - Exempt

Position Summary:

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for researching and writing grant proposals, preparing funder reports, tracking outcomes progress, and monitoring grant contract compliance. This position coordinates with key staff to prepare and submit grant proposals using a Trauma Informed Lens. As a certified Trauma Informed agency, Chrysalis is dedicated to supporting and assisting employees to reach their professional goals by promoting a working environment that fosters opportunities for employee empowerment and growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Participate in scheduled supervision meetings with the Chief Finance Leader.

· Research grant prospects and prepare and submit applications for funding to Government Funding Sources, Corporations and Foundations, and additional funding sources to meet the needs of Chrysalis and the people we serve. This includes identifying grant budgets and assembling required documents as needed.

· Maintain grants database that includes deadlines for applications and reports. Keep funders, opportunities, tasks and schedules current.

· Maintain an annual grant index of outcome requirements, deadlines, contract details, and reporting requirements.

· Collaborate with Chrysalis Financial Department to identify grant funding purposes, allowed expenditures, and grant spenddown.

· Facilitate Monthly Grant Outcomes & Invoicing Meetings for contract status and progress review.

· Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual grant reports are submitted within contract deadlines. Provide narrative components to reports as needed.

· Expand and diversify Chrysalis’ funder prospect portfolio for operating and capital needs.

· Establish and maintain relationships with funder contacts and participate in the funder acknowledgement process with respect and appreciation.

· Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Ability, Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Social Work or related field and/or 2 years minimum experience in writing grant proposals.

· Experience with government proposals and contracts a plus.

· Strong writing and communication skills.

· Ability to interact and engage in positive relationships with donors, staff members, community partners, and board members.

· Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and be detail-oriented.

· Ability to think creatively, write strategically, and multi-task.

· Knowledge of computer-related skills including word processing, database management, document lay-out and navigation of various web-based grant submission applications.

· Knowledge of Domestic Abuse issues preferred.

Other Requirements:

She/he/they must provide own transportation and automobile insurance and have the ability to travel throughout the community; Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance as required by Chrysalis and ADHS licensure requirements; must maintain current TB Testing, CPR and first aid training as required by Chrysalis policies; May be required to move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs and to ascend/descend stairs.
