Component Sourcing International is hiring an Inside Sales Associate to work at either location in Charlotte, NC, or Buffalo Grove, IL. This is an onsite, full-time, permanent position with a full benefits package.

The Inside Sales Associate (ISA) is responsible for the generation of sales opportunities within the organization through lead generation and prospect follow-up. The ISA is responsible for scheduling sales visits to new prospects and new customers CSI does not currently do business with, as well as administratively managing the sales team’s funnel for projects/opportunities/results. The ISA is both internally and externally focused and is an integral interface for all new business growth in the company. The ISA will collect and organize all contacts made at trade shows for prospects, and strategically mine for prospects through intensive and focused searches. The ISA will reach out to the prospects to set up meetings, determine primary points of contact, and sell the CSI value proposition in order to get new projects submitted to CSI for quoting.
The ISA must be able to work independently, is very well organized, and make use of robust project management and material planning tools. He/she anticipates future roadblocks to ensure doors are opened at new prospect companies and ensures that all project targets are being met (number of new companies contacted per month, number of new companies visited per month, number of new RFQ’s submitted per month, win/loss analytics of RFQ’s submitted). The candidate will have experience with metal manufacturing, global sourcing, and collaborating on cost-reduction opportunities for new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an organized comprehensive target/prospect list of new companies that fit CSI’s target customer profile by going through historical contacts/prospects generated.
  • Update list as necessary (primary point of contact, email addresses, website, etc.)
  • Choose 1-2 trade shows to visit per quarter to further develop target/prospect list.
  • Administratively track daily/weekly: New prospects identified and who identified them, Comprehensive Contacts List, Expected RFQ’s/projects (including timing and estimated value), Meeting schedule / appointment schedule weekly.
  • Gain intelligence from customer/prospect interaction of products/services that CSI could offer to help fill a customer need.
  • Track Win/Loss and document reasons for each.
  • Act as the internal knowledge champion for all new prospects/customers as the leads are generated.

Required Skills:
  • BS or BA degree preferred, with a concentration/focus in marketing or sales, but not necessary.
  • Proven track record with industrial component sales to small, medium and large OEM’s
  • Knowledge of Global Sourcing preferred
  • Strong analytical skills; sound Excel proficiency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized and ready to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
