Crestmont School is Seeking a Learning Specialist (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a part-time (24 hours per week) Learning Specialist to design and implement academic supports to address students’ varied learning needs. The Learning Specialist collaborates with the teachers and other staff to identify and assess individual students with specific learning difficulties, and to design both push-in and pull-out services to support these students. The Learning Specialist will provide direct academic support in both one-on-one and small group settings. Additionally, the Learning Specialist will partner with teachers to modify curricula and/or instructional techniques as needed. The position includes the administering of both formal and informal assessments. Finally, the learning specialist will coordinate the referral process, and may facilitate the communication process between families, the school, and service providers.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Special Education, Educational Therapy, Special Education Certificate or equivalent
- Two+ years experience serving children with learning differences in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering the emotional and social growth of every child
- Ability to build strong connections with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
