The Villages of Farragut, a retirement community for independent seniors, is currently seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Assistant/Handyman for our community in Farragut, TN.

Job Duties / Requirements:

The Maintenance Assistant/Handyman performs daily maintenance required to maintain community curb appeal, to turn units, complete daily work orders for residents, and support monthly preventative maintenance. Duties include:

• Working knowledge of basic apartment maintenance, including basic plumbing, basic electrical, general carpentry, small appliance troubleshooting, and basic grounds maintenance. HVAC troubleshooting knowledge a plus.
• Perform daily work orders for residents in a timely manner and submit completed work orders to Maintenance Director. Examples are, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, hanging artwork, unclogging drains or toilets, installing safety bars, etc.
• Support monthly preventative maintenance, such as changing or cleaning air filters.
• Ensure proper curb appeal standards are met by picking up trash and reporting issues to the Maintenance Director. Assist housekeeping with trash removal to dumpster. Pressure wash patios or sidewalks as needed.
• Assist with apartment turns, to include basic cleaning, drywall repair, painting, carpet cleaning, or other rent-ready tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a friendly disposition with residents, families, co-workers and vendors at all times.
• Reports to the Maintenance Director. Completes other related duties as assigned.
• Must be trustworthy and have a responsible work ethic. Must pass drug screen and background check.

Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Must have physical ability to lift, push, pull, stoop, squat, reach, bend, stand and walk during the majority of the work day.

Hourly Wage: $16-$18 hourly based on experience and skill level. HVAC knowledge a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
